Singer Farruko continues to cross musical genres with his latest album, Visionary Mind.
Reggaeton singer Farruko has hit the ground running with his latest album, Visionary Mind, with which he takes his music to the next level. “I have the talent and the commitment to be able to move freely in different rhythms,” says Carlos Efren Reyes Rosado, aka Farruko. “In this album in particular, my fans will continue to see the same urban core of what I do, but I also explore things that I have never done before, like singing in English and incorporating more up-tempo and off-tempo songs.” Farruko credits his launch into the music world in 2006 to Myspace and feels that social media has been key to his success. “Social networks are the core of my career. It’s kind of a meter for me. It is also a way to stay connected to all my fans.” The Puerto Rican artist has been nominated for the Latin Grammy for Best Urban Music Album in 2012 and Best Urban Song in 2014. He attributes his success to perseverance. “Unlike other artists, I did not sign with a big record label and turn into a superstar overnight. I went step-by-step, crashed a thousand times and had to get up again, but I thank God for the opportunity.”
